Post Quantum Cryptography

Think Tank - 11:45 am - 12:10 pm

Quantum computing is now a reality and is on the cusp of becoming a viable platform for advanced computing tasks. One result of quantum computing is the impact on current cryptographic security solutions. Now is the time to look at what needs to be addressed, what needs to be enhanced, and what needs to be replaced.

Takeaways:

  1. Nation-states and very large companies will likely be the only groups with access to quantum computers for at least the next 10-15 years.
  2. Synchronous cryptography solutions will need to be strengthened to withstand attacks.
  3. Current Asynchronous cryptography solutions will need to be fully replaced with new (i.e. lattice-based) solutions.
